MORE FREE ACTION ON FIGHTZONE IN SEPTEMBER

Fightzone viewers get more FREE title fight action in September with a packed card from Malta hitting the screens.   On September 30th the cameras head overseas to the Monte Kristo Estates, Hal Farrug, in Malta for an exciting night of title action topped by Liverpool’s Ryan Farrag against Scott Allan for the vacant Commonwealth Silver Super Flyweight Title.   Farrag is a ring veteran who has only lost five bouts in a 26-fight career that began in 2010 – but has to win against Allan to keep his career alive.  Last time out in June, the 35-year-old came off second best against fellow Scouser Marcel Braithwaite for the full Super Flyweight Commonwealth crown – in a close points defeat.  Despite losing, many Fightzone viewers had Farrag slightly edging the action, showing that the Liverpudlian still seems to have plenty more to give.   The fight will also be the opportunity of a lifetime for Lanarkshire’s Allan.  The 30-year-old has lost seven of 20 bouts but those defeats have come in good company against quality operators like Marc LeachKash Farooq and the aforementioned Marcel Braithwaite – and the Scot should provide a hard test for favourite Farrag.   Also appearing on the bill will be local man, Steve Martin.  Another fight-game veteran who – like Farrag – turned pro in 2010, the 36-year-old is a fan favourite with an all-action style who will be looking to build on his 17-6-2 (12) ledger in the hope of securing a future title fight.   Fightzone’s Steve Crump stated: “This show is more great action that we’re bringing to Fightzone subscribers, and it’s all absolutely free to watch.   “I thought Ryan Farrag was little unlucky against Marcel [Braithwaite].  It was a fight that could have gone either way, but I think the most important thing is that Ryan will have learnt from it.  We’ve secured him this title shot straight away against a tough opponent in Scott Allan, but I do believe he can come through and go on to fight for another major belt in the near future.”   “Although we’ve shown plenty of World, British and Commonwealth Title fights on Fightzone, one of our aims has always been to give a platform to all the fantastic fighters at the start of their journeys who never normally get any exposure.    “Since Fightzone began we’ve followed some fighters from their debuts and all the way onto title fights, and it’s so rewarding to follow their journeys.  This is also what we’ll be doing on this Malta show – getting to know, and see, some great talent at the start of their careers.”
